72 years ago, when the first McDonald began Americans could not see the effects that it would have on the nation in a short amount of time. Fast Food was intended to be a once in a while alternative to cooking. Or at least that's how my family perceived it. Instead, it has become a substitute for cooking altogether. American families have gotten lax in the way meals are prepared. We would rather find something quick and easy and not set aside the time to cook. But where is the line drawn? When have you had too much fast food?
Obesity is becoming an uncontrollable problem within the United States. More and more people are becoming subject to the horrors of being dramatically overweight. The question is; who's fault is it? Is it McDonald's fault or the person consuming so much food? Researchers are still not sure who to blame, but they do know that some actions need to be taken in order for this mass spread to be handled with care. Most people believe that fast food is not directly affecting children or any adult for that matter. But, I believe it to be untrue. Eating McDonalds everyday is not healthy. Nor any other fast food place. The lack of calorie control or posting at these fast food places set the businesses up to be sued. If most people took the time to become more knowledgeable about the harmful effects of fast food, most wouldn't decide to eat there. |
Obesity has gotten out of control, especially among young children. Parents have stopped cooking for their children and allow them to waste money at fast food restaurants. As you can see from the picture, children don't have much self control at such a young age, and it doesn't help when their parents aren't teaching them good habits.
So, who's to blame here? The parents? The children? Fast Food restauraunts? We may never come to a direct conclusion. But one thing is for sure, this obesity epidemic needs a cure...fast. |
